This series is dedicated to highlighting specific elements of photography, make-up, and post-processing, all designed to work in harmony towards the goal of giving the viewer a feeling of sweet romantic intimacy and closeness.
The style used is by intention very fluid and dynamic. I didn’t necessarily want it to feel like a model posing for a photographer. Instead I wanted it to feel more like a girl that was ‘magically’ captured as she strolled through a beautiful garden. As she walks in beauty, we as the viewer feel as though we are slowly getting to know her. At times she looks deep in thought in that slightly bittersweet melancholy style that is often associated with people in love. Notice the beautiful natural light often accentuated through the use of lens flare, helping to give the entire series a somewhat voyeuristic feel.
As we continue to watch our young girl strolling through the garden, we find ourselves slowly mesmerized by the natural beauty of her lovely feminine features and her sweet surroundings. The series was retouched in such a way as to give off a sweet ethereal vibe using soft pastel colors.
As we reach the end of the series and see that final radiant smile on the face of our girl, the viewer can easily imagine that the syrupy smile is saying to him. “Hello my love, I am so happy to see you.” And maybe, just maybe… if you are a true romantic at heart, you will notice that you too are smiling back at her.
